Description

ActioNet is looking for a Senior Network Engineer/Architect with an Active Public Trust Clearance for an opportunity in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

Summary:

You will serve as the Senior Network Engineer and Architect responsible for performing general technical tasks for network architecture planning, assist in general analysis on network operability/inoperability, topologies, technologies, interfaces, and protocols, and designing virtual network as services and the network for cloud optimized storage (preferably AWS, Azure). This role will serve as the Networking Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design, implement, update, and maintain and troubleshoot all network devices including firewalls, routers, switches, network application controllers, console servers, and media converters. Analyze current networks and provide recommendations for changes and upgrades to meet client requirements, as necessary. Develop deigns for a variety of network domains, including a data center, WAN, LAN, and security stacks. Work with engineers and architects across programs to learn about system and network designs, architectures, and device configurations. Architect and design new solutions based on current client challenges with existing networks and systems. Present findings to senior leadership. Lastly, this position requires an advanced understanding of Cisco, ARISTA, and white box and Linux LAN switching, routing and Cisco and Fortinet FortiGate firewall infrastructure and network hardware. Some U.S. travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or engineering related field of study – preferably with a network engineering focus
  • 10-years of hands on experience designing, troubleshooting, and supporting network infrastructure, hardware, and IP topology
  • CCNA, CCNP, and/or CCSP certification
  • 10-years hands-on Cisco, Arista, switching, routing and Layer 3 experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Federal government experience
  • Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS or Cloud certification
  • CISSP, MCSE certifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or engineering related field of study – preferably with a network engineering focus
  • 10+ years of hands on experience designing, troubleshooting, and supporting network infrastructure, hardware, and IP topology
