Technician In Charge/Lead Technician

 

Transdev in Atlanta, GA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Diesel Technician to join our team. The Lead Diesel Technician will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our diesel technician team, ensuring the timely and efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs transit vehicle maintenance that is compliant with Transdev standards
  • Oversees and assists in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of buses and related equipment. 
  • Inspects, diagnoses, services, and/or repairs all assigned transit vehicles and related mechanical equipment
  • Ensures accurate upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems, road calls, and on-the-road repairs as needed
  • Coaches and monitors team members on the work team
  • Other duties as required
  • Supervises bus fueling
  • Identifies and recommends actions to improve operating efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Maintenance experience with all types of heavy-duty transit equipment. For Mechanic A level: 5+ years’ experience.
  • Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification up to Master.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpret safety documents, blueprints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug test.
  • Must have a valid CDL license with a clean driving record.
