As we continue to modernize our operations and accelerate digital transformation, we are seeking a strategic and operationally minded Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead all aspects of Information Technology for Transdev U.S.
 
The CIO will serve as a key member of the U.S. Executive Committee and a critical business partner to our CEO, operational leaders, and the global Transdev Group IT organization. This executive will shape Transdev’s U.S. technology vision while ensuring flawless day-to-day delivery across our highly distributed, mission-critical transportation network.

Role Overview
The CIO is responsible for defining and executing a forward-looking digital and technology strategy that enables safe, reliable, cost-effective transportation operations. This leader oversees all aspects of IT—including enterprise applications, cybersecurity, data & analytics, field operations support, infrastructure, project management, vendor partnerships, and innovation—while ensuring disciplined execution and high service levels across 300+ operating locations.
 
This role requires a hands-on, pragmatic executive who can operate at both the strategic and tactical levels: shaping long-term digital transformation while ensuring immediate operational continuity and performance.

Compensation Range Statement
The expected compensation range for this position is $290K – $325K per year. The actual starting pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
  • Develop and execute the U.S. IT strategy aligned with business priorities, customer expectations, and Transdev Group technology standards.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives that improve safety, operational efficiency, cost management, customer experience, and data-driven decision making.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Committee and other senior leaders on technology trends, innovation, and enterprise modernization.
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of technology across a distributed footprint of ~300 locations relying on stable, resilient systems.
  • Oversee IT service delivery and field support, ensuring responsive, customer-focused performance that supports 24/7 operations.
  • Strengthen governance, standardization, and process discipline across all IT functions.
Enterprise Systems & Data Leadership
  • Oversee key enterprise platforms including safety, maintenance, scheduling, payroll & HR systems, financial applications, and customer interfaces.
  • Lead the modernization of legacy systems and drive simplification across the application landscape.
  • Expand the use of data and analytics to support operational performance, safety, workforce planning, and customer reporting.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Strengthen cybersecurity posture, risk management, and business continuity planning for a large, complex, and highly distributed environment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including DOT, FTA, SOC, and Group-level IT standards.
People Leadership & Change Management
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing IT organization that partners effectively with Operations and Corporate teams.
  • Drive change management efforts that enable adoption of new technologies and support the cultural shift toward more data-driven and digital ways of working.
  • Foster strong collaboration with global Transdev Group IT teams and participate in worldwide technology initiatives.
Vendor, Budget, & Project Management
  • Lead IT financial planning, cost optimization, and resource allocation for a large enterprise budget.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and performance to ensure value delivery.
  • Oversee the IT project portfolio, ensuring disciplined prioritization, execution, and benefits realization.

Qualifications
Required
  • Proven executive-level IT leadership experience in a large, distributed, operationally intensive enterprise (transportation, logistics, utilities, field services, industrial services, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success leading technology modernization, enterprise system transformation, and data & analytics advancement.
  • Experience with mission-critical operations, 24/7 service environments, and strong IT service delivery disciplines.
  • Track record of building and developing strong, collaborative teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, vendor management capability, and ability to operate in a complex matrixed organization.
Preferred
  • Experience working within a global corporate structure and balancing local and global group IT requirements.
  • Prior exposure to public-sector clients, regulated environments, or mobility/transportation technologies.
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems and leading cloud migration or similar modernization programs.

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
