Key Responsibilities:

  • This position requires up to 80% travel. 
  • Provide enterprise-level oversight of all Transdev maintenance & repair inventory, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and alignment with company standards. 
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve inventory operations across all divisions; identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization. 
  • Develop and enforce corporate inventory policies, procedures, and KPIs to ensure consistent performance and compliance. 
  • Maintain and continually refine the parts master catalog, ensuring standardized nomenclature, accurate VMRS coding, and complete sourcing/purchasing data. 
  • Lead initiatives to improve data quality, classification, and part master governance across the enterprise. 
  • Establish and manage stocking-level strategies that support shop efficiency while minimizing excess inventory. 
  • Prevent obsolescence by proactively reviewing inventory across divisions, redistributing internal stock, and coordinating returns or buy-backs with suppliers. 
  • Develop lifecycle strategies for high-value and slow-moving parts to reduce financial exposure. 
  • Recommend, implement, and monitor cost-quality procurement programs—ensuring that all parts purchased meet the optimal balance of price, quality, and availability. 
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Maintenance, and Operations to evaluate vendors and strengthen supplier relationships. 
  • Support companywide initiatives to consolidate sourcing, leverage volume pricing, and reduce purchasing variance. 
  • Manage effective warranty and core exchange programs to maximize recovery value and minimize avoidable costs. 
  • Track program performance and enforce consistent processes for capturing warranty and core credits across all divisions. 
  • Oversee cycle counting and physical inventory processes, ensuring compliance with policy and timely reporting to corporate leadership. 
  • Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc on-site or remote audits to verify process adherence, data accuracy, and financial integrity. 
  • Provide timely technical support, training, and guidance to field operations on catalog use, inventory systems, purchasing processes, and best practices. 
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and analytics to support operations and inform corporate decision-making. 
  • Present performance updates and recommendations to senior leadership, highlighting risks, improvement opportunities, and emerging trends. 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to design and implement new processes that support evolving business needs. 
  • Stay current with emerging inventory management technologies, best practices, and industry trends; recommend enhancements to existing systems and workflows. 

Qualifications: 

  • Candidate must have 3-5 years' Automotive parts room experience.  
  • Candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.  
  • Must have excellent communication skills. Bringing demonstrated abilities to build solid relationships with superiors, peers, and subordinates. 
  • Must be computer literate with experience in operating fleet management information systems and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.  
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years  
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason. 
Physical Requirements 
  • The essential functions of this position require the ability to: 
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. 
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces 
  • Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level 
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
