Senior Engineer
Description
"Senior Engineer” is responsible for promoting Sumitomo Electric's Vanadium Redox Flow Battery System in the U.S. with a focus on LDES (Long Duration Energy Storage). In promoting sales, the person will not only be responsible for responding to bids, but also for proposing collaboration with technology partners, building effective personal connections in the energy industry, and creating new projects.
II. Duties/Responsibilities:
Networking: Establish relationships with local energy companies, energy industry associations, and municipalities to identify business opportunities.
Market Research: Gather insights on market trends, competitor activities, and new policies or regulations, and report them.
Partnership Proposals: Explore, negotiate and propose collaborations with local businesses and technology partners.
Project Development and Management: Lead projects through initiation, bidding.

IV. Required Skills/Abilities:
Expertise: Familiar with power and energy sector technologies and markets.
Ability: Ability to understand drawings required for grid interconnection, such as single-line diagrams and equipment specifications.
Professional connections: Connections with local energy related company, and technology partners.
Communication skills: Ability to explain technical content in an easy-to-understand manner and excel in negotiations and proposals.
V. Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
+5 years sales or more of directly related experience in renewable energy or/and energy storage.
Experience in a business development role supporting engineer design services.
VI. Position in Organization:
Reports to General Manager, Energy Storage Systems Department
Directly Supervises: 0-1 employee
VII. Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the physical and motor skills typical of an office environment, including, but not limited to: prolonged sitting, working on a computer, using telephones, handheld technology and other office equipment, standing, walking and stooping.
May be occasionally required to lift objects such as files, boxes of paper, office supplies, and computer / office equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to routinely concentrate, focus and read for general understanding and analytical purposes and ability to communicate effectively.
