Member of Technical Staff - Frontend OR UI (4-6 years)
- Independent Execution: Able to work independently on scoped-out tasks, managing their own priorities to meet sprint deadlines without requiring daily oversight.
- High-Quality Code: Develops features that are clean, maintainable, and efficient. Writes robust, testable code and actively contributes to unit and e2e test suites (e.g., Jest, RTL, Playwright).
- Problem Solving: Handles routine engineering tasks completely independently. Proactively identifies bugs and works to reduce technical debt within their own components.
- Debugging and Triage: Is adept at debugging issues and navigating the source code to determine root causes.
- Partnership with UX/PM: Collaborates with UX designers and product managers to refine UI designs, ensuring technical feasibility and adherence to requirements.
- Engagement with Backend & QA: Works closely with backend teams on API integration and with QA teams to ensure features are thoroughly tested before release.
- Clear Communication: Comfortable seeking help from outside the immediate team when blocked and contributes to team discussions to share learning.
- Feature Development: contributions to major UI projects and understand how to handle routine tasks completely on their own.
- Proactive Code Review: Actively participates in the team's code review process, reviewing code from peers to learn best practices and maintaining quality standards.
- Continuous Learning: Actively seeks constructive feedback on their work to accelerate their own growth and improvement.
- Experience: Generally, 4–6 years of relevant industry experience. (An MS graduate may begin at this level).
- Frontend Technologies: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
- State & Styling: Familiarity with state management patterns (Redux, Context API) and modern CSS techniques (Flexbox, Grid, CSS-in-JS).
- Performance Awareness: Demonstrates an understanding of frontend performance best practices (e.g., minimizing re-renders, optimizing bundle sizes).
- Ownership: A highly proactive work ethic; eager to learn and confident in taking on new challenges.
