Position Title: Senior PHP Developer
Location: Hybrid - Medellín
What you will be doing:
As a Senior PHP Developer, you will guide a development team, delivering robust web-based applications and driving best practices in PHP development. This role involves hands-on coding, leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to create solutions for various internal needs. A strong emphasis on Test-Driven Development (TDD), Agile methodologies, and DevOps culture is essential. Your responsibilities will include:
- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of PHP developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Technical Oversight: Take an active role in design, coding, testing, and deployment, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Full Stack Development: Develop and maintain web-based products using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, HTML, and Bootstrap.
- Architecture & Design: Design scalable systems and improve existing architectures to meet evolving business needs.
- API & Integration Management: Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and SOAP services, ensuring seamless data communication.
- Agile Practices: Promote Agile SCRUM practices within the team for optimized project delivery.
- Code Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot the codebase, enhancing existing functionalities and resolving issues.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Work effectively with remote and internal teams, documenting technical specifications for ongoing support and maintenance.
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- PHP & MySQL Expertise: 5+ years of experience with PHP V7 or V8 and MySQL, including knowledge of PHP MVC frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symphony, CakePHP).
- Front-End Development: Proficiency with JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, HTML, and Bootstrap.
- Third-Party Integration: Experience with third-party APIs, payment gateways, and SOAP.
- CRM Development (Plus): Experience with vTiger CRM or similar systems is a plus.
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git for version control.
- Technical Skills: Ability to understand project specifications, design, code, unit test, implement, and debug solutions effectively.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently or in a team.
- Energetic team player mindset.
Nice to Have Skills
- Understanding of operational excellence through Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience in behavioral healthcare or similar industries.
- Knowledge of SOAP integrations and advanced API handling.
