Access Screener Coordinator - Full Time
Hiring Range: $24.94 - $30.55 per hour

Join Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) as an Access Screener & Coordinator, where you’ll play a vital role in connecting the community with behavioral health resources. This position is ideal for a compassionate and organized individual who thrives in a client-centered environment, supporting individuals by triaging calls, handling in-person requests, and providing guidance on Medicaid and DSHS applications. Your work will contribute to the quality care and improved operations of KMHS, supporting our mission and ensuring high standards of customer service.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Triage service requests via phone and in person, providing information, referrals, and support with a focus on de-escalation and crisis intervention skills.
  • Maintain familiarity with KMHS services and criteria for program access.
  • Serve as a certified Medicaid Navigator, assisting clients in obtaining Apple Health Medicaid funding and providing resources on DSHS and Washington Health Benefit Exchange applications.
  • Accurately input data into the electronic medical record system and assist with managing client referrals and monitoring outcomes.
  • Provide detailed and accurate data entry and complete Access team and agency-required reports in a timely manner.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE: Entry level (no prior related work experience)

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration. (Can be obtained after hire)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

Experience working with individuals accessing behavioral health services in a clinically oriented setting.

Experience entering data into an electronic medical record.
