Hiring Range: $26.89 - $ 33.61 per hour 
Additional $2.00 per hour differential
Valid SUDP License Required

The Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist on the FACT team works with the rest of the clinical team to support clients in learning about their substance use disorders and how substance use can be a barrier to their personal goals. This position will provide psychoeducation, ASAM assessments and coordination of treatment referrals, and utilize harm reduction strategies with those who do not have abstinence as a goal.

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing direct services to client. Services may include engagement activities, individual counseling, psychoeducation, and coordinating referrals to the KMHS Pathways team, as well as occasional ASAM assessments.
  • Helping the FACT team develop written treatment plans with appropriate interventions to address substance use.
  • Using motivational interviewing and harm reduction models.
  • Helping FACT clients access MAT if eligible.
  • Establishing and maintaining therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Educating clients and their families about the interaction of mental health symptoms and substance use and how it impacts client goals such as housing, jobs, and stability in the community.
  • Documenting all clinical services thoroughly and accurately and submit all documentation in a timely manner per agency policy and contractual/WAC requirements.
  • Focusing on teamwork, teambuilding, and the maintenance of a positive work atmosphere in order to provide the best treatment for the people we serve.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field.
 
EXPERIENCE: Experience working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders in outpatient or inpatient substance treatment facilities or psychiatric treatment settings.

LICENSURE: Eligible for Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration. Current licensure as a Substance Use Disorder Professional
