SUMMARY
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Drafter with experience in wiring and electrical diagrams, focusing on harness design and technical drawing creation. The ideal candidate will have a background in producing precise and detailed schematics, wiring layouts, and harness drawings to support electrical engineering projects. This role requires strong technical drafting skills, familiarity with CAD software, and the ability to work closely with engineers and production teams to ensure designs meet quality and regulatory standards. Experience with uncrewed systems (UAS) is preferred but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Develop detailed and accurate technical drawings, wiring schematics, and harness layouts for electrical systems based on engineering specifications.
- Create and update documentation packages, including wiring diagrams, part lists, and assembly instructions, to support manufacturing and assembly.
- Ensure that all drawings meet industry standards and regulatory requirements for electrical and wiring systems.
- Collaborate with engineers to refine designs, ensuring that drawings accurately reflect project requirements and align with engineering specifications.
- Support change management processes by revising and updating drawings as necessary to reflect design modifications.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues related to electrical diagrams and harness layouts, providing updates and feedback as required.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and supporting documentation to ensure easy access and version control.
The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:
- Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, CAD, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Zuken E3, or SolidWorks Electrical, for creating wiring diagrams and harness drawings.
- Strong understanding of electrical drafting standards and practices, particularly for wiring and harness design.
- Familiarity with document management processes for maintaining drawing records, part lists, and revisions.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical drafting, focusing on wiring diagrams, harness design, or similar work in electrical or engineering settings.
- Proven experience in creating and managing technical drawings for production and assembly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain clear documentation and revision histories.
- Good communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with engineers and production teams.
