Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer – PX4 Configuration
We are seeking a highly skilled Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer with strong experience in PX4 flight control systems to join our UAV development team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, tune, and optimize PX4 Autopilot parameters for various UAV platforms.
- Set up flight-control architectures, mixer configurations, sensor setups, and system parameters within PX4.
- Conduct functional testing of flight-control behaviors in SITL/HITL simulation environments.
- Perform in-depth analysis of flight logs to troubleshoot issues and refine configuration settings.
- Integrate and calibrate flight-critical sensors including IMUs, GPS/GNSS, magnetometers, barometers, and companion-computer inputs.
- Validate system performance through ground tests and support flight-test teams during configuration verification.
- Implement configuration-level updates and support firmware adjustments when needed.
- Ensure configuration documentation is maintained accurately for production and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with avionics, software, and hardware teams to ensure PX4 configurations align with airframe and mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in UAV flight-control systems, GNC engineering, or embedded control configuration roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with PX4 setup, configuration, and calibration across multiple airframe types.
- Solid understanding of flight dynamics, control systems, and sensor fusion concepts.
- Proficiency with tools such as QGroundControl, MAVLink protocols, and PX4 log-analysis tools.
- Experience using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or C++ for control analysis or scripting workflows.
- Familiarity with UAV simulation environments (Gazebo, JMAVSim, AirSim) for configuration validation.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot sensor issues, configuration errors, and flight-control anomalies.
- Strong documentation and communication skills suited to a production-focused engineering environment.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills.
- Bachelor’s in aerospace engineering, robotics, control systems, or related field.
