System Administrator

We are looking for a skilled System Administrator to ensure the stable operation, security, and performance of our IT systems. You will manage servers, applications, and networks, support IT projects, and help improve our infrastructure in a collaborative environment. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure stable daily operation of business-critical applications, servers, and IT systems.
  • Monitor IT systems’ performance, availability, and security, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform installation, testing, and deployment of system updates, patches, and application changes.
  • Propose and implement improvements to IT infrastructure and processes.
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery procedures, and related documentation.
  • Implement and maintain IT security measures, including access control, identity management, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain documentation, asset records, software licensing, and monitor systems for operational efficiency.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex IT support issues, independently troubleshooting and resolving problems.
  • Execute IT department action plans and actively participate in infrastructure projects
 
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in system administration, IT operations, or infrastructure support.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.
  • Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Familiarity with security measures, including access control, identity management, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with software installation, patching, updates, and configuration management.
  • Ability to document IT systems, maintain asset records, and manage software licensing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with IT teams and business stakeholders.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Latvian and English.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or Linux Professional Institute (LPIC) are a plus.
