Weston is seeking a Construction Remediation Manager that will be responsible for setting expectations for Weston personnel and any supporting subcontractors or general contractors with respect to scheduling, installation, and testing requirements.   Other responsibilities include project status review, daily site reports, team, subcontractor and client relations, and various other responsibilities as necessary to ensure construction completion and customer satisfaction. 

Candidate must be local to the project work which will be in New York City Boroughs (e.g Staten Island, Brooklyn) and/or near Edison, New Jersey.  This work will involve remediation of contaminated soils and groundwater.  The Construction Manager must have remediation experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • BS plus 15 years’ experience or equivalent experience in construction leadership and management for sites undergoing demolition and/or remediation.
  • Ability to fully comprehend demolition/remediation contract documents and details, along with a solid understanding of demolition/remediation principles and techniques.
  • Ability to provide day-to-day management, oversight, technical direction, supervision and coordination of construction activities for the duration of the projects.
  • Ability to develop, monitor, maintain and enforce project schedules.
  • Ability to develop remediation plans, as needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with client, site contractors ( including oversight contractors), regulators/inspectors  and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to spearhead and conduct regular, detailed project/construction management meetings with consultants and engineers to assist with completing projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Ability to implement effective site management, manage logistics and direct subcontractors
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word & Excel.
  • Certification in 40 HR HAZWOPER, Safety Officer, and 30 HR Construction.  Ability to attend obtain 1st AID and CPR as needed.
  • Oversight of electrical work is desired.

 

Expected Outcomes:

  • Within his or her specialty, is responsible for various field activities including site management and report preparation of that area of specialty on projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date techniques insuring the credibility of technical assignment.
  • Coordinate daily activities with other professionals and field personnel.
  • Provide technical supervision and assistance to ensure that project activities are technically valid, and results are coordinated for added continuity and control.
  • Prepare the sections of proposals relating to his or her area of specialty regarding scope, man-hours, and equipment needed.
  • Be familiar with potential hazards (safety and health) associated with project activities and advise manager of construction of procedures to mitigate.
  • Acting as a working leader, serves to coordinate all activities in an efficient manner to ensure that the project requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Act as liaison with other professionals and field personnel to accomplish the efficient and smooth implementation of project directives.
  • The Construction Site Manager will serve as leader of the field teams and be capable of assisting the team in completing the required tasks.  All field operations, timetables, field budgets are under his/her control.
