Weston Solutions is seeking a Project Controls Specialist.  The Project Controls Specialist will assist project team with development and maintenance of cost/schedule control tools that will accurately guide team efforts to a timely and profitable conclusion.  Using these tools, provide project performance data to project and program management.
 
Additional responsibilities will include:
Provide project controls support for projects with high complexity and/or risk factors.  Provide and/or supervise cost and schedule reporting for programs with multiple delivery orders.  Participate in project kickoff meetings by working with the project manager, project estimator, and financial analyst in the development of a cost/schedule control system that depicts the detailed efforts of the project team from project start to project close out.  Document this system with appropriate procedures specific to the project or program.  Prepare Project Profitability models to analyze contribution and profitability throughout the project.  Develop and maintain accurate cost and/or resource-loaded CPM schedules as required by the project team either in the home office or the field.  Gather data by interviewing project team members for scheduled accomplishments, and the projection of cost and schedule estimates to complete.  Summarize this data in cost and schedule reports that will allow the Project Manager to make timely decisions that will positively affect the project’s profitability and the client’s satisfaction.  Support corporate and local management’s resource allocation needs.     
  
Level of Autonomy:
Decisions made by the Project Controls Specialist II will include selecting techniques, software, and reporting requirements to assist the project manager manage cost and schedule risk and project profitability.  Ability to interface directly with technical disciplines, procurement, contracts, and other project support staff is required.  Active participation in project and program status meetings is required.  The ability to accurately prepare cost and schedule reports that may become client deliverables is required.  The Project Controls Specialist II should be able to draw on experience that will allow him/her to assist the Project Manager select courses of action to positively impact project operations and profitability.  A high degree of autonomy and initiative is required in this respect.  Ultimately, all decisions made are subject to approval by the Project Manager and/or the Cost Control Department Manager.   
     
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
BS plus 2 (or equivalent) years of experience in project controls or project engineering in Federal environmental or construction required.  Required computer skills include knowledge of CPM scheduling software (Primavera Systems products preferred), spreadsheet and database programs, including Microsoft Excel and Access.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $59,700 - $79,700 - $99,600
