The Safety Officer for our DoD Fuels Program is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of office, project specific Health and Safety Programs associated with the work we do at military facilities supporting operation and maintenance of their fueling systems.  He/she provides much of required training such as confined space, blood borne pathogen (BBP), etc.  He/she acts as a liaison between their Project or Technical Managers and the subcontractor and client.  

Location: Remote 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Experience performing in a construction safety position for a minimum of 5 continuous years.
  • Must be familiar with USACE EM 385-1-1.
  • OSHA Construction Safety (30 hour) training.
  • Certified in Red Cross First Aid and CPR.
  • Direct experience in supporting excavation, heavy equipment inspection, scaffolding, electrical safety, confined space entry rescue, and demolition are desired.

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:  

  • DoD Fuels Programs
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER.
  • Construction work with electrical or mechanical trades
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Expected Outcomes:  

  • Implement the Project Health & Safety Program and Assist the Regional Safety Manager (RSM) in implementing the Corporate Health & Safety Program including the performance of associated EHS inspections.
  • Conduct field safety inspections and provide Safety Reports to the RSM.
  • Assist in preparation of Accident Prevention Plans and arrange for review of all safety plans by the RSM prior to submittal to the Project Manager (PM) for approval.
  • When delegated authority by the RSM, review Accident Prevention Plans and authorize field equipment requisitions.
  • Monitor office safety training needs, provide and/or assist RSM actively as lecturer in providing training.
  • Assist with Notice of Incident Report preparation, review and transmittal and mishap investigations in accordance with the Weston Mishap Management Program (MMP).

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. 

Salary Range: $55,100 - $73,500 - $91,800
