About the opportunity:

As a Staff Performance Test Engineer, you will demonstrate expert-level skills in Load and Performance testing tools and strategies as well as a deep and broad understanding of the process of building and deploying software in the AWS Cloud. You will use your skills to drive load and performance test strategy throughout the engineering organization.

 

What your contributions will be:

  • Own the load/performance testing & test data management strategy for the engineering organization
  • Build and execute system-wide load tests that identify performance degradations from release to release.
  • Train and mentor members of delivery teams in load testing techniques.
  • Lead out in quality-related work, train, and mentor team members
  • Define, implement, and manage processes and “best practices” regarding load/performance testing
  • Provide metrics on test results
  • Present test results to stakeholders
  • Willingness to work in a high-profile position where internal and external customers rely on your work.

 

What you will bring to the team:

  • Attention to detail
  • A strong testing mindset
  • Expertise working in Microservices architecture and testing restful API’s
  • Expertise with software test tools and processes
  • Experience building load and performance testing frameworks for cloud-based consumer-facing applications and databases
  • Experience writing complex load-generating tests for web applications using BlazeMeter, jMeter, or a comparable tool
  • Experience building large data sets that support real world load testing scenarios
  • Working knowledge of agile development methodologies

 

What you will need for success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education
  • 10 or more years of working experience in a quality assurance and load/performance testing.
  • Ability to comprehend complexity, to fully understand a product with all of its business and technological implications, and to approach the improvement of its quality from that perspective
  • High degree of efficiency and motivation in work habits in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Committed to meeting deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills, with both technical and non-technical team members

  

Priority consideration for applicants who have:

  • AWS DevOps Experience
  • Experience with BlazeMeter, jMeter or similar tools.

Compensation Transparency:

The compensation range for this position is: $125,000 - $135,000

 

The posted cash compensation for this position includes on target earnings. Some roles may qualify for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are determined based on various factors specific to each candidate, such as career level, skills, experience, geographic location, qualifications, and other job-related considerations
