Seeking a Mid+ Level Backend Developer with strong experience in Node.js, Express, TypeScript, and API and third-party service integration. Proficiency in AWS Lambda for serverless computing. In-depth knowledge of the logistics industry, brokerage, and transportation.
Position Title: Mid+ Level Backend Developer
Location: Colombia
What you will be doing:
As a Mid+ Level Developer with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in leading technical projects, your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and maintain cutting-edge solutions. You'll be working with technologies such as Node.js, Express, Typescript, API integrations, DB Migrations scripts, and AWS Lambda. In addition to your technical expertise, your role will require experience integrating freight brokerage systems with external partners via APIs and webhooks, supporting carrier onboarding, load tendering, shipment tracking, status updates, rate confirmations, and invoicing across multiple third-party platforms. Collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams will be a key aspect of your work, and your strong soft skills will be essential for enhancing teamwork and problem-solving.
- NodeJS & Frameworks: Expert-level development using NodeJS and a common framework such as Express.js.
- Database Expertise: Strong knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) databases, including schema design and query optimization.
- Proven experience working with REST and JSON-based APIs, including consuming and building APIs, integrating third-party platforms, handling authentication (OAuth, API keys), and managing error handling, retries, and data validation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in leading technical projects.
- Proven track record of successful software development projects.
- A portfolio showcasing your Node.js, Express, and TypeScript expertise.
- Deep expertise in API design and third-party integrations and feature development within the logistics and freight brokerage domain, including integrating TMS platforms with carriers, shippers, tracking providers, rating engines, and financial systems, while ensuring scalability, resilience, and data consistency across high-volume transactional workflows.
- Demonstrated soft skills in client-facing roles, problem-solving, time management, and negotiation.
