Role Overview

Jarrard is seeking a Senior Healthcare Communications Consultant to help lead key client projects with the nation’s most prominent healthcare brands. The work requires a strong communications foundation, excellent writing skills and demonstrated project management experience. This role is also essential in guiding internal teams to meet our clients’ needs in high-stakes moments of change, challenge and opportunity.    

    

In some instances, the Senior Healthcare Communications Consultant will lead the client entirely, with guidance from a Vice President/Practice lead. At other times, the role will partner with practice leadership on complex clients, spearheading the execution of program tactics and the development of materials. At all times, the Senior Healthcare Communications Consultant will drive the day-to-day work for clients while assuring high quality and a collaborative team environment.    

Responsibilities

CLIENT SERVICE   

  • Partner with client leader (VP or Practice lead) to drive the execution of program tactics and the hands-on development of program materials, leading the day-to-day strategy and execution of project work
  • Develop client strategy and program plan against objectives and strategies of the client
  • Lead clients to realize full potential, meeting all project objectives on time with the highest quality work
  • Lead communications and client partnership to ensure steady flow of information and client satisfaction; present key client updates and plans with confidence
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, helping to resolve issues that may arise
  • Create and review work, ensuring the work is client-ready
  • Actively explore opportunities to organically grow existing client relationships

    

Internal Client Team Management    

  • Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement within the team
  • Daily team advising and supervision
  • Monthly/weekly staff planning/tracking including timely communications to internal leaders

    

Business Development   

  • Grow current client business by identifying additional needs we can serve well
  • Participate in new business development and pitches, as appropriate
  • In collaboration with Practice leadership, contribute to pitch strategy and proposal development for targeted opportunities
  • Ensure appropriate colleagues are brought into organic growth opportunities

    

Firm Management   

  • Capture and transfer best practices in key client management
  • Actively participate in appropriate firm management meetings and/or discussions

    

People Development   

  • Demonstrate and nurture Jarrard Vision, Mission and Values
  • Provide team mentoring and professional development, including career development for teammates; as appropriate, directly supervise younger team members
  • Help identify qualified talent to join the team through networks, affiliations, etc.
  • Participate in Jarrard Academy, the firm’s venue for training and development

Qualifications and Desired Skills

Qualifications for this position:   

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s a plus)
  • Proven expertise working within the healthcare technology space
  • 5-7 years experience in a preferred combination of a Communications role, professional services firm (healthcare technology focus is preferred) public relations, and/or journalism.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, directing and executing strategic communications programs that blend PR, content marketing, social media and data
  • Experience helping disruptive health technology companies develop compelling messaging, storylines and thought leadership platforms
  • Established relationships with top-tier trade media and bloggers, vertical market media and national and local business media
  • Experience running integrated PR programs, including paid content
  • Ability to work remotely, office options in Chicago, IL and Nashville

Salary range: $95,000-110,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs. In addition, Chartis offers several benefits including medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, disability insurance, life insurance, 401(k) match, paid time off, wellness stipend, and additional voluntary benefits.LI-Remote
