Strategic Financial Managers are financial project managers responsible for understanding event operations on medium to large scale events. SFM’s track, report and consult on comprehensive event performance throughout the financial life cycle and actively work to develop the knowledge and experience to tackle projects confidently with little oversight. Budget sizes typically range between $5M-$50M of varying complexities and factors. SFM’s are resourced for both integrated strategic financial management and event specific strategic financial management. In both roles, the SFM drives financial project management by working directly with clients and various stakeholders, internally and externally, to collaborate on executing the world’s best events.

  • Integrated Strategic Financial Management- contracted as year-round financial project managers, SFM’s are deeply integrated with client finance, business management and senior leadership to define and implement a centralized financial model. The SFM team works closely with clients to consult and track forecasted and allocated spend across the fiscal year.
  • Event Specific Strategic Financial Management- contracted on a per-event basis, the SFM team manages individual event budgets. The SFM team drives financial project management of the budget planning process across many workstreams and provides comprehensive event budget updates directly to clients throughout the event lifecycle.


  • Bachelor’s degree,1 to 3 plus years of relatable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Client facing experience, experience working with forecasting, accruals and financial reporting


  • Financial budget accountability to client and department on management of assigned programs
  • Analyze data, financial and non-financial, and succinctly present results to colleagues and clients
  • Create, establish, and implement financial best practices, streamlined efficiencies and program enhancements
  • Interface with account executives to launch new projects
  • Possess knowledge of program objectives, planned spend, seasonality & drivers to effectively influence budget decisions and performance.
  • Drive growth of existing clients through solid delivery and performance
  • Increased efficiencies gained through experience and expertise
  • Coordination, preparation, and compilation of data / information for clients
  • Develop and maintain communications in a timely, cooperative, and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers
  • Conceptualize and help implement strategic enhancements of client programs
  • Be available and provide onboarding and ongoing training and support for team


  • Proficient in Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
