Technical Accounting Analyst

You will be part of the Direct & Ceded Technical Accounting team supporting the global Finance organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Insurance and Reinsurance accounting process, ensure business (direct, assumed, outwards) is properly coded; the data is correctly entered in SICS, reconciled, and reported accurately.

 

  • Communicate effectively with internal departments (underwriting, claims, actuarial, audit, finance/accounting), Brokers, Reinsurers, MGA/MGUs

 

  • Documenting processes by creating SOPs.
  • Coordinate with Outwards accountants ensuring accurate recoverables, collections and cash application in SICS.
  • Oversee and process various Direct and Ceded programs including premium and claims bookings as well as payment processing in SICS and Workday.
  • Oversee imprest accounts, trusts, funds held, cash loss advances for various programs.
  • Allocation of incoming/outgoing settlements in the accounting system (SICS)
  • Maintaining financial records, keeping accounts up to date with current transactions
  • Weekly Control Reporting, (Unsettled balances, Unsettled Remittances, Transaction Control, Return Premium Control)
  • Ensuring timely and efficient settlement of Technical Payments
  • Filing of all technical accounting correspondence and support deck within iManage document management system.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of existing technical accounting processes.
  • Ability to manage and manipulate large amounts of data

The specific qualities were looking for are:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or similar like Finance/Accounting
  • Up to 2 years of accounting and/or financial operations in insurance
  • Experience from the insurance and reinsurance sector is a merit as well as working in a global operation.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work to tight timescales and meet strict business deadlines.
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge, intermediate Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
  • SICS experience a plus

 

  • Ability to take responsibility, work proactively and continuously improve activities in complex, quickly transforming environments.

 

SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 per year . This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
