Join Our Team  

You will be our Catastrophe Modeller responsible for catastrophe modelling service and exposure management, this role requires understanding of property and casualty re/insurance and preferably some work with Catastrophe Models (Verisk/AIR especially).  Your responsibilities will include portfolio optimization, exposure management, and catastrophe modelling. Reporting to our Head of Property Pricing and Analytics, your role will be essential to the team. 

Your responsibilities will include:

-         Using SQL to investigate exposure data provided by our clients.

-         Running Catastrophe Models and using output in evaluation of Property Reinsurance and Insurance policies.

-        Validating Catastrophe Modelling output using statistical techniques and industry data along with cedant data.

-      Assisting with portfolio accumulation and producing reports for internal, regulatory, and rating agency stakeholders.

-       Creating visuals using Power BI/Tableau/other tools to communicate insights to senior management.

-        Running portfolio optimization exercises to increase profitability of the NatCat-exposed book.

-        Conducting research into Catastrophe Models to improve the Company’s view of risk.

SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $95-105K per year . This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.

Your qualifications, skills, and experience must include:

-          Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Math, Sciences, Economics, Engineering, etc.)

-          Some work experience in an office setting, internship(s) acceptable

-          Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to individuals with less technical backgrounds.

-          Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

-          Programming knowledge, particularly in SQL and/or experience in a scripting language, preferred.
