Rare opportunity to join our growing team of Mammo Techs here at Nuvance/Northwell. We are looking for a passionate healthcare Mammography Technologist for the following shifts:
Our rates have increased and are based on FULL years of experience $46.07 - 57.59 plus shift differentials. Work location 20 Germantown Road Danbury rear entrance.
Summary:
Performs mammography procedures to help physicians in the care of their patients and supports the hospital's objective of quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
1. Greets patients, introduces self, and checks patient identification.
2. Reviews patient's script to insure that the appropriate exam is being performed.
3. Explains procedure and ensures the safety and comfort of patient.
4. Produces images and analysis images for interpretation to the Radiologist.
5. Assists Radiologist with invasive procedures.
6. Requires knowledge of MQSA requirements and adheres to them.
7. Performs QA tests daily on equipment.
8. Maintains familiarity of computer system to complete orders and cancel exams as necessary.
9. Recalls patient's prior exam history as pertinent to exam.
10. Exposure with other modalities.
11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

Minimum Experience: one year
Desired: Experience with patient care in a radiology setting. Specialty certification.

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Significant occupational risk
Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
