Nuvance Health is a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practice locations including The Heart Center and non-acute care affiliates.
SUMMARY:
Request products as determined, weekly cycle counts; follow-up on order status with Purchasing to ensure stock availability. Handle ordering and replenishing products on patient care units and other departments. Main focus is the distribution of supplies and equipment to all areas of the facilities to support patient care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project usage of products and order par cart levels daily in service areas
- Notify management of overstock/picking errors to be returned to the Distribution Center
- Maintain effective communication with customers, co-workers, and team members
- Provide accurate documentation of department transactions
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled assignments in a timely manner
- Deliver items/requisitions to appropriate area, after receipt
- Answer phone/Vocera in a friendly and courteous manner
- Record information for General Stock Requests and deliver supplies to appropriate personnel/unit
- Report shortages to appropriate personnel
- Receive items using the proper equipment and receiving procedures
- Deliver Fed Ex, UPS, Air Borne and other requested items by the end of the business day
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment for the Materials Handling Departments areas of responsibility
- Comply with JACHO regulations as outline for Inventory storage
- Properly store supplies, nothing left on floor and maintain clean areas
- Rotate stock and check for expiring products
- Physical inventory counts during semi-annual inventory
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED and 2 yr. of healthcare or warehousing, supply chain management or purchasing experience
- Basic MS Outlook, Teams, and Word experience, familiarity with hand-held inventory devices
- Polite customer service attitude, flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Lift approximately 70 lbs.
- Walking, stooping, kneeling, and standing
- Must be able to push and pull a variety of carts and materials handling equipment
- Fast paced quality and patient care supply area
- Clean environment with some poor lighting and drafty work areas
