About the Team
The Services Automation team at Nutanix is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our professional services through automation and innovative solutions. Located in Bangalore, our team fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture, where team members are encouraged to share ideas and support each other's growth. Our mission is to streamline cloud infrastructure deployment and management, aligning with modern DevOps practices to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
You will report to the Director of Professional Services, who is known for a supportive and empowering leadership style that encourages team members to take initiative and grow in their roles. The team operates in a hybrid work setup, requiring the hire to be in the office three days a week to facilitate close collaboration with colleagues and engage actively with the professional services team.
This role does not have any required travel, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality automation solutions while working closely with cross-functional teams from the comfort of your hybrid workspace.
Your Role
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and frameworks for cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate deployment and management tasks, aligning with DevOps and GitOps best practices.
  • Containerize applications using Docker and manage their lifecycle across various environments.
  • Utilize APIs to integrate and manage cloud services on Nutanix and other platforms.
  • Monitor application performance and optimize across hybrid environments.
  • Create and maintain documentation while contributing to best practices in automation and cloud-native development.
  • Engage in continuous learning and improvement of automation tools and methodologies throughout the first year.
  • Actively participate in team collaboration and communication to align project goals and deliverables.
What You Will Bring
  • Strong proficiency in Python; experience with BASH and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with Django framework for application development on Mac and Windows.
  • Experience in containerization using Docker and management of container lifecycles.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS; knowledge of hybrid and multicloud architectures.
  • Understanding of DevOps and GitOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Proficiency in Git for version control and collaboration in software development.
  • Knowledge of security practices in coding and scalable system design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
