The Inventory Control Shipping Clerk is responsible for acting as the primary point of contact for all incoming and outgoing drivers. The clerk is responsible for completing paperwork, maintaining schedules, and ensuring all paperwork is complete and error free. The clerk provides information both internally and externally as needed. Responsible to verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments, unload shipments received and prepare items for outgoing shipment.

  • Safety: Champion all aspects of personal and Plant Safety. Instill a sense of self-responsibility for safety among associates. Ensure the safety of the associates, safe use of equipment and PPE, and housekeeping.
  • Customer Relationship: Promote a customer-centered culture at the plant.
  • Technical Knowledge: Develop and continually improve technical knowledge of processes in order to continually improve and problem solve.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement and lean practices, focused and data based. Utilize MDI and process confirmation system to drive quality improvement.
  • People: Support and enforce plant guidelines, policies, & procedures. Support the development of associates in the quality department as necessary. Ensure & promote a positive attitude to instill continuous improvements in the on-going efforts for quality.
  • Quality: Optimize the production process to assure that quality is built-in, not inspected in.
    • Support quality initiatives and corrective actions to drive a culture that supports our Quality Statement and helps employees learn and improve.
    • May aid in investigating and/or correcting product quality issues.
    • Assist with COA/COCs for customers as necessary.
    • Conducts data collection and analysis as required.
    • Collects and distributes samples/PDS (pre-delivery samples) as required.
    • Assist calibration program for the facility. 
    • Record quarantined product into tracking system.
    • Perform extra required testing as needed.
    • Assist with supplier rejections (supporting plant procurement).
    • Assist & audit quality station(s) for BRC compliance.
    • Perform special assigned quality testing as needed.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, and have the ability to learn company specialized software programs.
  • This position works in both production and the office and will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. 
  • May, on a continuous basis, stand for a long period of time and stoop and kneel frequently.
  • May handle, feel and reach for items in and around press area, also write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.
  • Some walking and lifting and/or move up to 40 lbs. may be required. 
  • Vision: close vision, distance and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud.  Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer mandated deadlines.
