Purpose of the role:
Manage the Production Systems and ICS duties with responsibilities for building and maintaining world class teamwork, positive employee engagement, productivity, quality, safety, continuous improvement and housekeeping. 
To ensure the quality and service expectations of our external and internal customers are met within quoted and world class performance expectations.

The Role: 

 
In this exciting role, you will:

People management:

  • Be the link between the ink lab and production. Ensuring that critical jobs are monitored closely and standards of work are communicated and are being upheld.
  • Assist supervisors with distribution of workload between presses
  • Engage in the support and teamwork with all departments in the business
  • Assist supervisors with logging of leave requests from staff

Process/Productivity:

  • Active participation in all Production and associated meetings.
  • Safety: Ensure that all safety concerns are raised.
  • Adhere to 5S principles of housekeeping.
  • Improvement projects (evaluation & implementation).
  • Identifying training opportunities and establishing standard practices.
  • Liaise with Print Manager and Planner on delivery expectations.
  • Coordinate resource availability to meet deadlines, including the management of rosters and overtime.
  • Manage the systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals (SOP’s.)
  • Management of ICS system, follow up of signed C/S, management of job histories and capturing of job histories.
  • Management of day-to-day administrative tasks in production including but not limited to toolbox talks, gembas, material requests, completing lifted job documents, front end forms, maintenance requests, reporting of IT issues, tool requests and completing raw material on hold forms.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing: Develop and understanding of Six Sigma principles and encourage, promote and support continual improvement and 5’S projects.
  • Communicate with Operations Manager regarding consumables, machinery and personnel requirements.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
 
•    ± 5 years’ experience in a production environment
•    Minimum grade 12 Senior certificate
•    Further education or certification is advantageous
•    Proficiency in MS office or equivalent software (Radius MIS and QlikView)
•    Self –motivated and directed with above average attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Must display the ability to adjust in a highly dynamic and deadline driven environment.
•    Adhere to and follow Standard Operating procedures.
•    Strong customer service orientation.
•    Team player with a “Can Do” attitude.
•    Flexible approach to handling peak time workloads.
