Position: Operations Manager
Responsibilities
Reporting to the site General Manager you will lead the production, pre-press, maintenance and engineering team of the site being accountable for:
- Lead the production process to manufacture and deliver customer-requested products at the lowest cost, with the specified quality, shortest delivery time, and optimal use of resources.
- Plan the allocation of production line resources to ensure compliance with production schedules and machine efficiency standards.
- Optimize and maintain plant infrastructure, including machine and equipment maintenance, to ensure operational continuity.
- Analyze production schedules to reduce operational costs and time.
- Comply with, standardize, and control production processes while ensuring continuous improvement by establishing KPIs for each area and monitoring them.
- Monitor departmental indicators and take necessary actions to deliver safe and high-quality products to all customers.
- Manage personnel by ensuring proper execution of each operation, promoting communication, and motivation among team members.
- Promote and support the development and monitoring of the quality system.
- Contribute to and follow up on all customer needs.
- Manage Capex and new projects.
- Follow up and ensure the effectiveness of corrective actions in accordance with quality and safety guidelines.
- Implement and manage continuous improvement initiatives in operations.
- Determine actions to be taken in case of deviations from production schedules.
- Execute Operations Management activities in compliance with the guidelines and requirements defined in the Integrated Management System (SGI) documentation (ISO 14001, BRC, ISO 9001).
Mínimum Qualifications:
- Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Degree in Engineering, or Business or equivalent to 10 years of staff level leadership experience.
- Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in Operations and/or Lean Management.
- Printing industry experience is mandatory, preferred in rotogravure.
- Experience in being a change agent in complex transformational activities.
- Significant experience in implementation of Lean principles as they apply to manufacturing operations.
- Ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies to determine root cause of problems and provide effective countermeasures.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
