Job purpose:
To be a value adding member of a dynamic maintenance team by promoting a safe and healthy working environment, minimizing downtime and assisting with installations, maintenance and repairs of all electrical, mechanical and auxiliary equipment in a safe, functional, reliable condition that provides quality customer service to the maintenance planning function.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a range of printing machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues and proactively address them to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and operators to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, utilizing your expertise to develop effective solutions.
  • Install, align, and calibrate new equipment, ensuring proper integration into existing systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machinery performance and reliability.

Requirements: 

  • A relevant trade certification as a Millwright or similar technical qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Millwright in an industrial setting, preferably within the printing or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Working on turning/ milling machines
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work standby
  • Own transport
