The Global IT Architect, Data Center & Cloud role is a key position on the MCC Global Infrastructure team reporting directly to the VP, Global Infrastructure & IT Operations. You will be responsible for engineering and delivering methodology for the complete management of MCC’s global data center computing architecture.  This will include key technology areas such as server operating systems, hypervisor platforms,  Software Delivery platforms, Storage Area Networks, backup and disaster recovery.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Infrastructure Engineers.
  • Act as a product owner for Global Data Centers and IaaS / PaaS Cloud platforms
  • Accountable for architecture, standards, management, and support of Data Center compute and storage infrastructure.
  • Defines architecture, and standards for data center and cloud environments to ensure availability, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborates with regional leaders and teams to understand local needs and identify opportunities to standardize compute and storage infrastructure while addressing local requirements.
  • Ensure implementation of global practices and standards in all global data centers.
  • Centrally manages vendor relationships for data center infrastructure related services.
  • Oversees configuration, management and support for the Data Center and Cloud environments across servers and storage, networking capabilities (within data center / cloud environment), automation capabilities, monitoring, backup capabilities and system security.
  • Operational management of data center hardware and software.
  • Infrastructure provisioning.
  • Real-time monitoring.
  • Capacity management.
  • Level 2 and 3 support and problem / issue resolution.
  • Life cycle management of compute and storage infrastructure.
  • Software license management for all data center infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • College Degree preferred.  Appropriate experience and certifications considered.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and Hybrid WAN architecture.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills, including critical issue escalation & resolution, root cause analysis / corrective actions, and leading with accountability. 
  • Significant, demonstrable experience of deployment of Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems using modern methods.
  • Use of proper change management and communication skills.
  • Incorporation of modern and proven methodologies for patching and securing all data center server and storage infrastructure.
  • Virtualization Technologies.
  • Remote Access (Citrix Netscaler / ADC) & VPN.
  • Identity Access Management (Active Directory, Azure Active Directory) Including conditional Access Policy.
  • Data Center hardware Lifecycle Management.
  • Hardware and Software Asset Management.
  • Backup, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
