Finishing Operator

Description

An exciting opportunity for a Print Finishing Operator to join our team based in our Darra plant. Your work pattern will be 38 hours per week doing the morning shift and will require flexibility to cover rotating shifts across different time frames.   

You will be responsible for the final stage of the printing process, where printed labels are transformed into their final form. This role involves operating finishing machinery and equipment to quality inspect and achieve targets and timeframes to meet our customers' expectations. If you thrive in fast-paced environments a have a great eye for detail, this role is for you!   

Duties include:  

  • Machine setup (loading print rolls, feeding through the machine & setting up of the blades & slicers)
  • Record data on basic machine operations statistics using a PC computer. 
  • Monitor & maintain the finishing machine with a strong safety focus.

About You (criteria)  

  • Mechanically aptitude (preferred)
  • Experience working in manufacturing industry, especially with labels (preferred but not essential as on the job training is provided) 
  • Certificate II qualification in Printing or similar field (preferred but not essential)
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to discern all colors (no color vision concerns).
  • Physically able to perform manual handling tasks.
  • Does not suffer from motion sickness.
  • Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • High regard for safety and a proactive, eager learner.
  • Eligible for Australian/New Zealand working rights.
