King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, seeks a weekend and/or night Conflicts & Ethics Attorney to join our Conflicts & Business Review department.  This is an opportunity to join an innovative and collaborative team focused on supporting the firm’s new business intake functions. The Conflicts & Ethics Attorney will work closely with the Associate Director of New Business Intake and a team of Conflicts & Ethics Attorneys. This position offers remote work as an option, subject to location approval by the firm.  As a global 24/7 law firm, the firm is seeking a Conflicts & Ethics Attorney to work Saturdays and/or Sundays, as well as night shifts, as part of their regular schedule.

Successful candidates will have the following skills and responsibilities:

  • Reviews the firm’s new business intake forms and related documentation, including conflict reports, waiver letters, and engagement letters, and communicates with lawyers and staff on any changes or additional information that may be necessary before the firm accepts the new business. 
  • Reviews conflict reports, researches corporate affiliations, and advises firm lawyers on conflict or relationship issues and relevant firm policies. 
  • Drafts informed consent letters and engagement letters. 
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Associate Director of New Business Intake or Director of Conflicts & New Business Intake. 

Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills, and a working knowledge of the rules of professional conduct.  Successful candidates demonstrate sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, and are able to work well under pressure.  Candidates must also have the ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and manage a heavy workload.  Previous conflicts experience is preferred but not required.  A Juris Doctorate (J.D.) is required.  Candidates must be actively licensed and in good standing with a state bar.
