King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, seeks a Human Resources Coordinator to join the Atlanta, GA office. The individual in this position provides Human Resource support for the Atlanta office as well as K&S regional offices including participation in recruiting, coordination of office functions, new employee orientation, and special projects as assigned by Director of Human Resources, Associate Director of Human Resources, Senior Manager and Manager. Essential Job Functions 
 
General HR Functions:  
·       Ensures confidentiality of all Human Resources issues, employee, and Firm matters. 
·       Answers inquiries from Firm personnel regarding Firm and Human Resources policies and procedures.  Researches Firm policy to respond to questions, using discretion and judgment in providing information.  Escalates questions and issues as needed to appropriate HR leadership.
·       Maintains confidential employee personnel records and updates employee information in Workday.  Compiles reports from database as needed. 
·       Responds to requests for verifications of employment information for current and former employees (supported with the appropriate releases) according to Firm policy.  
·       Assists in the planning of social and training events such as but not limited to Business Services Appreciation Week, Town Hall Meetings, Birthday Celebrations, Children’s Holiday Party, and CPR training. 
·       Processes department expenses through Chrome River for budget purposes. 
·       Assist with coordination of annual reviews and appropriate record keeping.
 
Recruiting:  
·       Assists in the recruitment and scheduling interviews of Business Services personnel. 
·       Prepares offer letters for prospective employees. 
·       Requests background investigation reports on viable candidates and monitors the status.  At times, may be required to assist the background check vendor in completing employment/education verifications. 
·       In liaison with the Conflicts department, ensures conflicts are cleared on all prospective attorneys and paralegals. 
Onboarding:  
·       Creates positions, hire, and send onboarding tasks in Workday for new hires. 
·       Submits new hire ticket in Cherwell HR tracking system to begin the onboarding process. 
·       Sends welcome emails and applicable onboarding paperwork to new hires for their completion.  
·       Schedules orientation meetings and training for all new employees. 
·       Assists in conducting orientation for new employees and attorneys.
Offboarding
·       Assists in full departure process in Workday and answering inquiries from team.
·       Assists in preparing departure checklists and forms for staff and attorneys. 
 
Other Responsibilities: 
·       Assists with other duties and projects as assigned by the CHRO, Director of Human Resources, and Associate Director of Human Resources.
Successful candidates must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral) to effectively support and represent the Human Resources Department. Candidates must have the ability to multitask and demonstrate superior project management skills as well as the ability to work well under pressure in the team’s fast- paced environment, while maintaining good perspective on the larger picture/impact. Candidates must exercise discretion and good judgment daily, particularly when handling confidential and/or sensitive employee information. Candidates must be able to work with a high degree of independence and must have the ability to work overtime in the evening and/or on weekends when necessary.
Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of prior work experience in a law firm or similar environment. Previous HR-related and Workday experience is preferred.
