Position Overview:
KORE Power, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to own all aspects of product design across multiple regions within KORE’s existing products and new product development programs. This role is expected to have a large degree of autonomy and will be required to plan work and meet schedules, providing frequent and effective communication to stakeholders. Working within a small team and a structured product development process, cross-functional collaboration will be critically important (and actively encouraged).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Champion the creation of Product Requirements to meet Market Requirements
- Participate in product roadmap planning
- Own the system architecture, requirements, and interfaces
- Analyze architectural and sub-system design trade-offs to meet requirements within program constraints
- Design and execute requirements traceability and verification plan
- Participates on project teams to develop clear specifications, evaluates feasibility of concepts, and serves as primary resource for design teams on system questions and decisions related to new product development
- Creates and reviews designs and models
- Coordinates, monitors and documents project designs, estimates, and costs.
- Complete project deliverables and monitor project schedule and scope changes to assure team can meet delivery requirements.
- Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate status and results.
- Leads project teams that include Designers, Engineers and Technicians in the design, assembly, and debug of equipment
- Influences and defines functional, departmental/divisional procedures through involvement with cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Provide leadership role on championing functional best practices.
- Work with stakeholders from R&D through operations to identify and push forward system improvements for reduced incremental cost of infrastructure
- Generate products and concepts to efficiently meet the needs of complex manufacturing processes
- Distill, document and manage scope effectively to accelerate dynamic projects
- Lead structured risk analysis (e.g. FMEA) of technical and complex systems
- Analyze field performance of equipment designs/installations and recommend key improvements for future phases
- Proven ability to solve subjective problems with objective fundamentals
- Influence various teams without direct reporting structure.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience
- Engineering degree from an accredited institution
- Fundamental engineering knowledge across disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software)
- Excellent ability to track action items and drive to closure
- Experience in a structured NPD environment
- Experience with formal engineering change process
- Experience with document management system(s)
- Prior working experience with Lithium Ion product engineering
- Successfully completed all phases of a Product Development & Launch
- Demonstrated ability to make product decisions in a timely manner to meet customer (internal and external) key milestone events and work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated strong communication skills: able to communicate (written and verbal) clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles and demonstrated ability to influence the product design.
- Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving and presentations
- Demonstrated ability to navigate crisis situations (i.e. no builds, shutdown, etc.)
- Proficient knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and database applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with vehicle dynamics
- Previous experience in a technical leadership or team management role.
- Engineering simulation tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, Spice, Mathematica, Anaconda)
- Proficiency in Mandarin a plus
