Job Overview


KORE Solutions is seeking a diligent and experienced Cost Accountant to join our accounting department. The cost accountant’s main responsibilities include:


  • Cost analysis – Analyzing costs of production, including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses. Examining cost trends, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and recommending cost-cutting strategies.
  • Budgeting and forecasting – Developing and managing budgets for various departments and/or projects within the organization.
  • Variance analysis – Comparing actual costs to budgeted or standard costs to identify variances. Investigating the reasons for discrepancies and making recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Inventory management – Monitoring inventory levels and valuing inventory for financial reporting purposes. Implementing inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
  • Product costing – Calculating the cost of manufacturing products. This includes job costing, process costing, and activity-based costing.
  • Cost reporting – Preparing regular reports on cost performance and profitability for management review, including cost trends, cost of goods sold, gross margin analysis, and other relevant metrics
  • Cost control – Working with department managers to control costs and improve cost efficiency. Identifying inefficiencies in processes, recommending cost-saving initiatives, and monitoring their implementation.
  • Financial analysis – Assisting with financial analysis and decision making by providing cost-related insights and data to support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Compliance and regulation – Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls related to cost accounting practices. Staying updated on relevant accounting regulations and implementing necessary changes.
  • Systems and technology – Utilizing ERP and other technological tools to streamline cost accounting processes, improve accuracy, and enhance efficiency.
  • Cross-functional collaboration – Collaborating with other departments such as operations, procurement, and finance to gather relevant data, analyze cost implications, and support decision making.
  • Continuous improvement – Identifying opportunities for process improvements in cost accounting procedures and contributing to the development and implementation of best practices within the organization.



Other duties:

  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Assisting others in the accounting department, as needed.
  • Respond to information requests by management.
  • Management of KORE Solutions project job codes.
  • Assist with information gathering during annual audits.

Reports To


The position reports to the Accounting Manager.


To be successful in this role, you should be able to timely and accurately perform your duties, pivot to the requests of management, and identify and communicate any issues or concerns in a timely manner. Further, you should possess and demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; or relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Currently holds or is working towards a CPA or CMA license preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Working experience with an ERP system preferred (Oracle Fusion).
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Good problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate orally. Hearing and vision within normal ranges with or without an assisted hearing device.
  • No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of up to 25 lbs. of force may be required.


Work Environment

  • The position is full-time in-person/on-site.
  • The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer and phone are normal.
