Sales Applications Engineer

KORE POWER is currently seeking a Sales Application Engineer with experience in renewable, battery energy storage and distributed energy technologies for our energy storage business. This role will serve as the primary technical interface between customers and KORE Power. The person will be responsible for supporting sales on customer meetings, proposal development & proposal supporting materials, technical pre-designs, performance software & tools for energy storage designs and implementation, and contract development. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the renewable energy industry and EMobility marketplaces energy storage technologies.

Required Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for KORE Power customers and integration partner to support sales efforts, from initial contact through project execution
  • Review specifications and preparing comments, proposal development, customer submittal preparation, providing product functionality and capability information to the Sales force and acting as technical liaison between the outside sales team, product engineering, and operation
  • Serve as the technical voice of the customer to coordinate technical discussions between sales, product engineering, product management and field service teams
  • Develop battery configuration to perform battery sizing and develop performance warranties based on project requirements and load profile
  • Work closely with sales team to develop sales strategy and solutions that ensure KORE Power consistently delivers competitive and responsive offers to its customers
  • Support sales activities by generating quotes, business proposals, and creating support tools (proposal template, Salesforce) for Outside Sales
  • Support Outside Sales on advising customers on the best use of company’s products and services to solve the customers problems
  • Assist with the technical sales analysis related to warranties, RFI, RFP and RFQ documents
  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with key KORE Power vendors and integration partner within the industry
  • Support and lead presentations to customers on technical aspects of KORE Power solutions
  • Proactively identify and communicate opportunities to improve how we operate as a team and a company
  • Review sales and marketing materials, proposals and customer deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with customer requirements
  • Support administration of Salesforce, CRM tool, etc.
  • Support of contracting documentation working with the Deal Team
  • Support of business metrics collection, analysis, and reviews
  • Remain current on industry trends, product applications, market activities, product certifications and standards, and competitive trends
  • Provide important market and customer feedback for product improvements and new product development

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or related field of studies
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with utility-scale or C&I energy storage project implementation
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with battery (i.e. Li-ion,) technologies
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within the energy storage or utility-scale renewable energy industry
  • Minimum 5 years of overall experience working with customers in a technical sales role
  • Experience with designing Li-ion systems for utility-scale or C&I energy storage projects
  • Utilize design and performance modeling tools
  • Self starter mentality with strong technical, analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Able to establish and grow relationships with customers, partners and internally
  • Be a versatile team player with a can-do attitude 
  • Consistently rise to the occasion in a fast growing and rapidly evolving business
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of time, both locally and internationally, with overnight stays required
  • Ability to work out of a home office when required
