KORE is looking to hire a qualified senior level Materials Engineer to develop, process, combine, and test materials to be used in production. Based on data gathered and expertise, the Materials Engineer will also identify and recommend the most appropriate materials for specific applications.  
To ensure success you should have extensive experience in material science and engineering, electrochemistry formulations related to lithium-ion batteries, research and development process, laboratory work, pilot and mass production planning, vendor qualification and audit, material quality assurance, excellent technical skills, and high-level analytical skills.  
 
 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Developing material specifications and evaluation criteria
  • Leading the development of electrochemical formulations
  • Developing the technical program for material qualifications
  • Managing laboratory work for the materials team
  • Supporting the development of technology roadmap
  • Supporting the development of new material vendors
  • Supporting the vendor management
  • Maintaining knowledge on the up-to-date material developments in the industry
  • Establishing a database for cell materials
 
Requirements and skills 
  • Master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience working as a material R&D engineer related to lithium-ion batteries
  • Experience with tools for electrochemistry development and evaluations
  • Experience with laboratory development
  • Experience with vendor qualification
  • Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with CAD and AutoCAD
  • Advanced technical skills
  • Analytical thinker
  • Ability to manage projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • English and Mandarin
 
Work Environment 
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • May be required to travel to and navigate a variety of sites to fully understand material needs.
