Position Overview:

The Software Engineer will design, develop, and validate Battery Management System software for KORE Power energy storage batteries. The Software Engineer shall ensure all software development projects and initiatives are in conformance with organization's policies and objectives. The Software Engineer will work with the Engineering team to ensure BMS software reflects and complies with the appropriate revision levels of product specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage embedded software to meet cost, timing, and performance targets.
  • Deliver high quality C/C++ code.
  • Review, approve, and modify production software designs.
  • Develop next generation BMS technology to meet the needs of safety and efficiency of high voltage batteries for commercial and industrial ESS applications.
  • Support product development plans to include schedules, product costs, and meeting design inputs.
  • Validate software in simulation and with real hardware.
  • Support and troubleshoot systems remotely.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering degree or equivalent practical work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years in relevant industries.
  • Solid understanding of communication protocols and strategies such as CAN bus and/or Modbus TCP.
  • Ability to write high-quality software in C/C++.
  • Experience in embedded development.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with control software and algorithm development.
  • Experience with version controls tools.
  • Ability to be a team member and to communicate with peers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Functional safety and cybersecurity skills.
  • Previous experience in a technical leadership or team management role.
  • Understanding of Lithium-ion battery characteristics and their applications.
  • Previous experience with Battery Management Systems.
  • Ability to read and review electrical schematics.
