Position Overview:
KORE Power, Inc. is seeking a Complaince Engineer to own all aspects of product Compliance across multiple regions within KORE’s existing products and new product development programs. This role is expected to have a large degree of autonomy and will be required to plan work and meet schedules, providing frequent and effective communication to stakeholders. Working within a small team and a structured product development process, cross-functional collaboration will be critically important (and actively encouraged).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Specifying certification requirements for energy storage systems and EV battery systems, both domestic and international
- Specifying certification requirements of electrical and mechanical components within KORE products both domestic and international
- Coordinating compliance with necessary testing agencies both domestic and international
- Work with Applications Engineering on compliance issues related to installations, both domestic and international
- Work with domestic and international utilities, inspection authorities, and other government agencies to negotiate market acceptance of KORE products
- Prepare documentation for Agency engineering projects
- Maintain a library of technical decisions between KORE Power and Agencies
- Work jointly with supply chain personnel to ensure sourced components complete agency certifications
- Work jointly with engineering staff to ensure that items related to compliance are driven to closure on-time
- Coordinate Field Evaluations
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally on a regular basis
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of compliance engineering experience
- Technical Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Excellent ability to work on many items in parallel
- Excellent complex project management experience
- Excellent ability to track action items and drive to closure
- Prior working experience with or at Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL)
- Prior working experience with or at an international certification agency
- Prior working experience with Lithium Ion product safety engineering
- Prior working experience with hazardous location equipment product safety engineering.
- Successfully completed all phases of a Product Launch
- Demonstrated ability to make product decisions in a timely manner to meet customer (internal and external) key milestone events and work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Basic competency in CAD and the ability to provide engineering direction to the design personnel
- Demonstrated strong communication skills: able to communicate (written and verbal) clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles and demonstrated ability to influence the product design.
- Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving and presentations
- Demonstrated ability to navigate crisis situations (i.e. no builds, shutdown, etc.)
- Proficient knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and database applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current PE licence or ability to quickly obtain a current license preferred
- Prior experience with vehicle dynamics
- Experience in trailer, recreational vehicle, recreational vehicle, or up-fit
- Previous experience in a technical leadership or team management role.
- Engineering simulation suites (e.g. Matlab, Catia, ANSYS, Maplesoft)
- Proficiency in Mandarin a plus
