Job Overview

 

The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Electromechanical Technician and Trainer is part of the Training and Quality Assurance Team which develops and delivers training processes to improve the skillsets of the employees who manufacture KORE’s custom-engineered battery energy storage solutions. Work is based at our Waterbury, Vermont facility.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

 

  • Developing training materials and conducting training sessions for all aspects of battery energy storage system manufacturing, including electrical, mechanical, and controller fabrication.
  • Providing hands-on training and guidance for employees to ensure proper integration methods are followed.
  • Assisting the Production and Electrical groups with system builds, test setup, and quality assurance.
  • Provide engineering support for production activities to ensure quality control and production efficiency.
  • Follow safety procedures and report any safety concerns to the Compliance and Safety Manager or Production Manager.
  • Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology, and production processes.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the development of best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in a training environment.
  • A degree in electrical or electro-mechanical engineering, or commensurate electrical skills.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience working in engineering production or a related field.
  • A firm grasp of engineering concepts; experience with mechanical, electrical systems, and manufacturing products.
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability, able to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker, should be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in training and development.
  • Experience with safety, quality assurance, and compliance.

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device. 
  • Ability to communicate orally. 
  • Standing for extended periods is common.
  • Some heavy lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force may be required.
  • Good manual dexterity is required.

Work Environment

  • The job is performed indoors in a traditional production setting.
