Raw Material and Transportation Manager

Business Unit:
Protein Conversion

Reports to: Head of Operations

Expected Travel: 25%



This Raw Material Manager will act as a support arm for all complex and protein conversion facilities.  They will be responsible for overseeing the management of raw material by-products produced by the following complex locations.



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years in a supply chain management
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics
  • Extensive experience and understanding of raw by-product management



  • Provide logistical oversight and organization for Pilgrim’s chicken by-products produced in the USA
  • Provide protein conversion facilities with inventory updates and organized transportation logistics and ensure timely deliveries
  • Develop and carry out integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures to maximize value and quality of by-products produced by Pilgrim’s complexes
  • Partner with complex managers to develop plan for on-time deliveries, inventory management and act as a liaison to protein conversion facilities
  • Partner with protein conversion facilities to develop shipping schedules, raw material inventories and act as a liaison to the complexes
  • Assist the quality department with any quality issues and investigations associated with by-products
  • Develop and implement training materials to educate complexes about foreign materials
  • Identify opportunities and drive changes for improving by-product collection to maximize potential 
  • Highly trained sense of urgency required when responding to all issues raised by a complex or protein conversion facilities as it pertains to by-product management
  • Partner with environmental department to execute contingency plans for by-products including SPN
  • Investigate opportunities for money savings and quality improvement associated with by-products to maximize value of assets
