Vacancy - The Aquila School 
IT team member - Systems specialist  
 
Here at the Aquila school much of the work of our IT team of two is supporting pupils and teachers with day to day IT issues. We are looking for a third person to join the team - where the focus will be behind the scenes work - making sure that systems are operating effectively.  
As a growing school - this is an evolving role and will need close co-ordination with a newly appointed data colleague, a new exams manager, the IT team and departments across the school - so the person we appoint will need to be flexible and adaptable with a ‘we all muck in’ attitude.

Purpose of Role 
To ensure the effective management of the school's data systems to support teaching, learning, and school improvement. This role is vital in ensuring data integrity and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.  
 
Key Responsibilities 
  • Perform diagnostic tests and debugging procedures to optimize computer systems. 
  • Providing IT support when needed.
  • Keeping up to date with advancements and best practices in IT administration.  
  • Manage the data systems to ensure data is collected, analysed, and distributed to staff, students, and parents effectively and on time.  
  • Design and manage workflows for all data systems, analysis, and reporting activities.  
  • Helping to maintain  the school record system (ISAMS) to ensure students' records are up to date and easy to access.  
  • Responsible for the upgrading of the system and issue notification to staff of changes in the modules from each upgrade.  
  • Design, produce and run reports as required including statistical reports.  
  • Responsible to implementing the policies and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding, security, confidentiality and data protection   
  • Managing the annual rollover
  • Working with key colleagues on all aspects of IT systems 
  • Consolidate data from different sources to form one consistent and accurate source.  
  • To act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members clearly communicating expectations from both parties, & Reporting on all data held within ISAMS.   
  • Build credibility, established rapport, and maintained communication with stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to the organization.  
  • Supporting the management of IT subscriptions and programmes used across the school
  • Ensuring that all systems are up to date and efficient .
 
Person Specification: 
Qualifications & Experience: 
 
 
Essential
·         Bachelor’s degree in any related field
·         Previous experience in a school setting
·         Proven experience in data management.
·         Strong knowledge of MIS platforms
·         Excellent organisational and planning skills.
·         High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
·         Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
·         Positive and flexible approach 
Desirable.
·         Familiarity with JCQ guidelines and DfE data requirements.
