Research Associate
(Educational Innovation)
Purpose of Role
The Research & Development (R&D) Department of Ellinogermaniki Agogi (http://www.ea.gr) designs and implements research programmes aimed at introducing innovation into educational practice. These programmes address multiple facets of innovation, including the organisational changes required in school operations, the reorganisation of curricula with an emphasis on 21st-century skills, the use of advanced technologies to support teaching and document learning outcomes, and the design of flexible teacher-training schemes.
Within this framework, Ellinogermaniki Agogi invites expressions of interest for the filling of one (1) full-time position at its R&D Department, with responsibilities including:
Key Responsibilities
- Advancing the school into an open learning environment founded on the triptych: open content – open pedagogical approaches – open collaborations.
- Designing innovative school-education actions, with a focus on co-creating original solutions to real-world problems through collaborations among schools, local communities, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinating a network of schools implementing the above activities.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Academic background and prior experience in as many as possible of the following:
- School innovation and “openness” (open schooling).
- Open innovation and research in school education.
- Development of cross-curricular and interdisciplinary educational activities.
- Collaboration between schools, the local community, and other stakeholders.
- Co-creation and participatory, user-centred design.
- Entrepreneurship in school education.
Additional requirements:
- Familiarity with contemporary technologies for communication, collaboration, and learning.
- Excellent command of Greek and English, with professional written and oral communication skills.
Additional assets (will be positively considered)
- Familiarity with the concept and methodologies of a “living lab.”
- Familiarity with the thematic area of the “food system.”
- Familiarity with European research-funding procedures and the implementation of related projects.
- Demonstrated interest and willingness to rapidly acquire knowledge and develop practical skills related to the above, where prior knowledge or experience may be lacking.
