Purpose of Role
The School Website Optimisation Manager leads the next phase of the School Website Enrolment Project (SWEP) - the shared digital system that brings every International Schools Partnership – ISP school into one high-performing ecosystem shaped to drive strong enrolment growth.
This role combines project management with digital performance leadership. It keeps the rollout momentum for the remaining schools while lifting the performance of live sites through clear conversion rate improvements and stronger SEO visibility
With almost half of ISP schools operating primarily in non-English languages, the role oversees the technical and content infrastructure that keeps the system performing across their local markets, languages and audiences.
This is a hands-on role that guides an in-house team and coordinates with vendors, regional teams and school marketers. The manager is accountable for keeping every site healthy, visible and conversion-ready, embedding governance, technical quality and a consistent user experience across more than 100 ISP schools.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities and role scope will evolve, but the initial focus will be on the foundational areas (Rollout, Governance, Technical Health, and Discoverability):
Rollout completion and onboarding
• Work with the ISP Head of Brand Activation and SWEP Content Lead to manage remaining school migrations through the established SOP.
• Coordinate with the external web vendor to ensure timely delivery of technical fixes and site readiness.
• Work with the internal content coordinator to maintain Monday.com and SharePoint project logs to monitor progress, approvals, and SLA compliance.
• Oversee governance standards and ensure all migrations meet agreed timelines, content quality, and SEO readiness benchmarks.
Governance and quality assurance
• Enhance and enforce comprehensive Governance and Standards for all website development, content publishing, and technical implementations to ensure consistency, scalability, and adherence to best practices.
• Maintain a structured quality assurance process linked to the SWEP SOP and SLA metrics, with the use of the group, regional and school dashboards in place, to track, analyse, and communicate performance across organic traffic, site health, and key discoverability metrics.
• Protect the integrity of ISP's brand experience online by ensuring all optimisation aligns with approved design and messaging frameworks.
Technical Site Infrastructure & Health
• Lead the ongoing audit and optimisation of the technical site infrastructure, addressing issues related to site speed, crawl budget, indexation, Core Web Vitals, mobile responsiveness, and overall website architecture.
• Collaborate closely with key teams to prioritise and implement technical SEO recommendations and ensure all new site features or releases meet internal performance standards.
• Manage and maintain all essential SEO tools and platforms (e.g., Google Search Console, analytics platforms, crawl tools) to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
Visibility (SEO, ASO, GEO)
• Own the overarching plan for discoverability, encompassing organic search optimisation (SEO) and Geo-targeting (GEO) for global and regional market relevance.
• Oversee and guide the development and execution of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO campaigns to maximise qualified organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.
Conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and user experience
• Maintain and enhance the existing optimisation strategy, ensuring all live and future websites keep improving in performance, usability, and conversion.
• Use existing dashboards and frameworks (GA4, HubSpot, Looker Studio) to identify where user journeys can be simplified or improved.
• Coordinate with analytics, content, and design teams to test small, evidence-based changes that build on what’s already working.
Team Leadership & Future Growth
• Manage the Content Lead who oversees a Content Editor and a Coordinator to deliver multilingual and localised content reviews that ensure brand alignment, tone consistency, and SEO optimisation.
• Prepare the groundwork for integrating future workstreams, including Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO), Authority & Reputation management, and AI/Chatbot governance, into the team's mandate.
• Work cross-functionally with analytics, SEO, and content teams to ensure optimisation decisions enhance storytelling, brand UX, and quality at scale.
• Document and share learnings across the group to create a culture of data-informed, user-centred improvement.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing large-scale SEO, Website Performance, and Technical Site Health in a multi-site or enterprise high-traffic environment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing an in-house SEO function or leading a team/client engagement through a significant operational shift (e.g., agency transition, platform migration).
• Deep, demonstrable expertise in core technical SEO principles, including Core Web Vitals, JavaScript SEO, site migrations, server-side configurations, and data structure (schema markup).
• Expert-level proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/SEMrush..
• Experience establishing and documenting clear technical standards and governance processes for content and engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of related digital marketing disciplines, particularly content strategy, web development cycles, and data analysis.
Desired:
• Experience with geo-targeting strategies for international markets is a strong plus.
• Experience managing multilingual or geo-targeted SEO (e.g., Google Business Profiles, regional SERP optimisation).
• Exposure to CRO tools, reputation management, or emerging AI/automation in SEO.
• Background in editorial or brand-driven content environments.
