Electrical superintendent (Monday to Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm)
Description
- Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Electrical team. Ensures direct reports understand performance standards and have a clear understanding of their own individual performance.
- Enforces and promotes safe work practices. Promptly rectifies job-site hazards. Ensures staff is properly trained and kept up to date on any procedural changes or updates to the business.
- Ensure sufficient staffing to meet the demand of feast or famine seasons in the industry, fluctuating workloads, and in staff’s absence.
- Oversees, responds, and delegates incoming Facilities Support emails related to electrical. Oversees team’s progress to ensure work performed is accurate, complete, and completed in a timely manner.
- Maintains current on codes and requirements by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations, etc.
- Performs all levels of electrical work including but is not limited to: assemblies, installs, and tests; maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures; utilizes hand tools and power tools.
- Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects; and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with codes.
- Schedules and coordinates electrical tasks and projects and relays information to affected teams. Utilizes internal tracking system to relay and update pertinent information related to the project.
- Advises and assists electrical team with technical support.
- Serves as liaison between electrical team, maintenance team, and project management team.
- Advise management on electrical concerns of existing or potential projects, equipment, etc.
- Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment to ensure conformance to building and safety codes, job specifications, and local codes.
- Provides recommendation to improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Maintains organization of job sites and ensures team is properly equipped with tools and materials.
- Creates and reviews material lists for individual projects and inventory stock.
- Monitors and tracks usage and assignment of materials and tools.
- Travel to remote sites as-needed basis to complete electrical projects.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in commercial electrical work.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the construction or maintenance field.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in project management.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Reliable personal transportation with at least the state minimum insurance coverage; use of personal vehicle is required for essential functions.
- Active Journeyman Card in Electrical required.
- Valid Contractor License (C-10) required.
Pay Range: Pay Range $45.00- $60.00/hr.
