Your role at GEI.
Candidates will work with engineers, contractors, public works personnel, Owners and the Public while performing construction observation and documentation and data collection for municipal infrastructure projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, forcemains, sewers, watermains, and road work.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with the engineering drawings and contract specifications. Strong background in process mechanical and electrical disciplines is considered a strong asset.
- Prepare daily inspection reports, as-built records, and manage construction documents.
- Provide contract administration services, lead progress meetings, and liaise with the client and contractor to address site issues.
- Support field survey needs including LiDAR scanning and GPS surveys.
- Track quantities for payment verification and record drawings;
- Coordinate third-party specialist inspections (e.g., geotechnical).
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of working experience in heavy civil and municipal construction projects;
- Civil Engineering background, eligible for or obtained CET or P.Eng. designations;
- Experience and aptitude in reading and interpreting contract documents including drawings and specifications;
- Possess strong organizational, communication (both oral and written), and problem-solving skills; have an approachable enthusiastic interpersonal style;
- Possess a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle;
- Strong Public Relations skills
