Overview of the role

The Business Development & Marketing team is integral to the growth of our business in France. As such, it is fast paced, challenging and offers people the chance to experience all facets of EssenceMediacom. 
Key aspects of the New Business Director's role include: 
  • Ensuring that potential clients receive the most compelling and well-structured proposals that the agency can offer, both in terms of content and design
  • Crafting the right narrative to communicate the agency's value proposition and capabilities effectively.
  • Streamlining the pitch process to be efficient and well-organized, avoiding unnecessary stress and disorganization.
  • Engaging and challenging internal stakeholders to collectively deliver optimal solutions for prospects and clients.
  • Aiming to secure new business wins to expand the client portfolio and reinforce the agency's growth-oriented culture.
  • Collaborating closely with the global headquarters in London to align strategies and optimize the agency's approach to new business opportunities.
  • The New Business Director is expected to be a driving force within the agency, not only leading by example but also by actively participating in the creation and delivery of winning pitches. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of EssenceMediacom and for fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
Reporting of the role 
The role reports to the Head of New Business & Marketing and is critical to the agency's growth, with the New Business Director playing a pivotal role in expanding the client portfolio and sustaining EssenceMediacom's growth mindset. The position offers the opportunity to work with a lively, hard-working, and fun team on a variety of industry-leading projects with significant exposure to senior leadership. The job emphasizes the importance of a positive atmosphere and the ability to lead effectively without the need for late-night rushes to meet deadlines. 
Responsibilities of the role 
  • New Business – project management
o Project management of new business initiatives, ensuring adherence to processes, timelines, presentation deliverables, and budget constraints. 
o Coordination of various teams and disciplines involved in responding to pitches, from the initial brief to client feedback and presentations (strategy, 
analytics & insights, planning, client services, Media Solutions, top management), 
  • Ownership of media responses and support throughout all pitches, maintaining close relationships with planning and client teams.
  • Leading the production of pitch materials, including decks and ad hoc content.
  • Ensuring high-quality presentation delivery, managing designers for pitch presentation aesthetics, and producing collateral materials.
  • Proposing innovations in media, tools, measurement, and reporting.
  • Monitoring the media market and prospecting for new opportunities.
  • Managing a team that includes a New Business & Marketing Executive and an alternate.
Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience in a similar role with an in-depth understanding of the media/marketing industry landscape, including media campaigns.

  • Demonstrable project management skills and a natural ability for organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to engage and manage senior stakeholders.
  • A friendly and approachable manner with a flexible attitude to work, capable of building collaborative relationships across the business at all levels.
  • The ability to work autonomously while managing tight deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a relevant field.
