Key Purposes of the Job:
Reporting to the DNEG Group’s Global Head of Marketing & Communications, the Head of Marketing and
Communications (India) is responsible for developing and managing an integrated marketing strategy to maximise awareness of our capabilities, work, achievements, and expertise in India. Also for determining and utilising appropriate external and internal channels to communicate and deliver the strategy and other business priorities.
The role covers all areas of the DNEG Group in India, including DNEG, ReDefine, DNEG Animation, and Prime
Focus.
You will be responsible for developing and utilising marketing assets, promotions and events, PR strategies and
more to differentiate us from our competitors, communicate our strengths, increase awareness of our brands, and evangelise our vision and values. You will also devise and lead on campaigns and initiatives that develop and promote our culture internally and externally to support retention and recruitment across the business in India, and which enhance and improve MarComms processes and communication with internal stakeholders.
You will lead and manage the MarComms team in India, mentoring and supporting career progression, and will be responsible for building out and training the team to work effectively as part of the wider global MarComms team.
You will also be the key MarComms point of contact for stakeholders from the DNEG Group’s eight Indian studios (in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Mohali, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai).
Working as part of the global Marketing & Communications team, you will collaborate closely with key internal
stakeholders, the business leadership team in India, and the global MarComms management team, to ensure that all initiatives are perfectly aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Development of strategies and campaigns to publicise and promote our brands and our people in India
• Identifying and organising key speaking opportunities and events for senior DNEG spokespeople, to raise
awareness of our work and promote industry thought-leadership
• Embedding our vision and values and delivering marketing initiatives and materials to support and promote
them
• Promoting our work and the achievements of our people and departments to increase brand awareness and
elevate the company’s position in the marketplace
• Developing and overseeing a content creation strategy to produce marketing assets such as case studies,
website articles, videos and blog posts to promote the work of the Indian teams
• Collaborating with the wider global marketing & communications team to leverage show promotion, events,
internal marketing, and technology marketing initiatives for India
• Collaborating with the digital marketing team to effectively utilise our social media channels and website for
promotion
• Preparing and managing the budgets associated with the marketing campaigns and initiatives undertaken
• Measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives
• Working closely with the global MarComms management team and the India leadership team to ensure that
all initiatives are in line with and supportive of the business strategy, vision and objectives
Must have:
• Significant experience operating at senior manager or head of department level in a similar role, ideally
within the film or creative/entertainment industry
• Experience owning and delivering marketing plans from start to finish, co-ordinating both internal and
external stakeholders
• Evidence of successfully executing marketing campaigns in line with the responsibilities as outlined above
Job Description
• Experience briefing and creating promotional content – both written and filmed
• Proven experience of building strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and senior
management teams
• Proven experience of building relationships with clients, ensuring they are open to a working partnership that
benefits both sides
• Highly self motivated and comfortable operating on your own initiative
• Excellent presentation and communication skills – written and verbal – with an eye for quality and attention
to detail
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment, responding calmly and effectively
• Good general IT skills and knowledge of Mac software including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Keynote
Nice to have:
• Experience of collaborating with cross-functional teams across geographies, including executive
management, operations, creative teams, sales, and talent acquisition
• Exposure to the VFX or Film / Entertainment industries
Measures of Performance:
• Successful delivery of marketing strategies and initiatives, as agreed with and assessed by the Global Head
of MarComms
• Establishing strong relationships with the leadership team and senior stakeholders from other internal
departments
• Effective communication of strategy and initiatives, clear briefing of requirements, hands-on approach to
management and delivery, and effective reporting of results
• Timeliness and accuracy in delivery of all information, budgeting, reporting and other activities
