Lead Environment Generalist TDs at DNEG work closely with Supervisors to help lead a team of EnvGen TDs. In joining our dynamic team of multi-talented artists, you will be able to utilize your diverse skill set while passionately problem solving and collaborating. You will help our artists to develop efficient methodologies and workflows for producing cutting edge environments on the highest calibre feature film projects.

Lead Environment Generalist TDs should have a developed range of skills in 3D and 2.5D. Your work may include modelling, texturing, look development, lighting, and re-projection, and requires you to make smart creative and technical decisions on a day-to-day basis.

Must-Have

  • Proven experience as a lead on a high-end feature film project guiding other artists on a sequence
  • Experience modelling, texturing, lookdev,  layout, lighting, and digital matte painting
  • Thorough understanding of 3D and 2.5D VFX processes and production pipelines
  • Strong working knowledge of a range of VFX industry softwares
  • Good understanding of compositing
  • Experience working with shoot data including photographic and reference data, HDRIs, photogrammetry, and Lidar
  • Proven experience developing photo-real environments
  • Experience with procedural city generation and scattering tools 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the natural world (geology, geography, and meteorology) and architecture (design and engineering)
  • Working knowledge of terrain generation, height fields and modular workflows

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Maya, Nuke
  • Knowledge of Clarisse 4.5+
  • Knowledge of Houdini
