What will you be doing?
In this role, you will co-ordinate the work of the Corporate Data Warehouse team and works with the business and other data roles in the department to create and execute roadmaps for data-centric products.
The Corporate Data Warehouse team have made significant progress on a 360-customer view with data from product, sales, marketing and finance teams. As we expand to improve Argus’ data management in other areas you will help coordinate the business and the technical owners of data to deliver insights and reports to drive growth and product development.
Working as part of the Argus technology department in our central London office, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of world class digital data products for our key strategic data, pricing, and fundamental initiatives.
You will work with and be supported in this role by:
- Data engineers and developers in the Data Warehouse team
- Product Managers and BAs in other relevant teams
- Architects and Architects in the Technology department
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the VP Product Management and senior stakeholders to build outcome-based roadmaps which reflect the strategic vision
- Researching and analysing the businesses needs for improved data practices, including data quality, reporting and visualisation, data security, and taxonomy
- Maintaining a resourced and costed delivery schedule for the Data Warehouse team
- Working with other data-centric teams and individuals to evangelise good data practice within the company, and drive an overall data strategy for Argus
- Oversee training for end users
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience of data centric development work, ideally including data warehouse implementation projects.
- Experience of working with structured data, and a basic understanding of the main concepts of data modelling, databases, and data management practices.
- Good working knowledge of SCRUM methodology and leading SCRUM ceremonies
- Good understanding of relational databases
- Strong people skills for dealing with a wide variety of technical and non-technical roles within the company
Desirable Skills and Experience
While not a technical role, familiarity with some or all of these will be helpful in your role
- Excel for data analysis, including more advanced functions
- Tableau, PowerBI or similar reporting and visualisation tools
- Basic to intermediate SQL
- Architectural and schema diagramming
- JIRA and Confluence
You will have line management responsibility. Previous line management experience is not essential.
