What will you be doing?  

  

Argus is seeking to grow and expand its licensing business with exchanges and strategic partners, and further connect Argus services and technology to a broader distribution ecosystem. 

  

This new position will Directly manage Argus’ licensing business with global exchanges 

  • Lead and direct our strategic partnership team and commercial relationships (Bloomberg, LESG)
  • Support partnerships and provide advice across the business
  • Develop and implement a commercial and product development plan for Argus Open Markets (AOM)
  • You will manage two direct reports including the VP Strategic Partnerships and the VP Commercial Product Argus Open Markets Platform.

  

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, with dotted lines to Sector leaders, the position has executive management access and will be expected to bring ideas and offer counsel for optimal execution of the business. Initially the role will report to the CCO for the first six months as part of the induction process. 

  

  • Manage and develop Argus’ business globally with commodity exchanges.
  • Lead the global partnership team to identify/pursue strategic partners/opportunities for Argus to grow/expand its products and services beyond its traditional distribution models.
  • Cultivate and structure commercial partnerships, joint ventures, and opportunities to expand Argus’ products and services distribution.
  • Develop Argus’ channel partnership strategy and direction.
  • Provide leadership/guidance to the VP, Commercial Product Argus Open Markets
  • Deliver Strategic Guidance to the Executive Management Team - Provide senior executive counsel and negotiation support for the executive management team and Argus business sector leads. Serve as a sounding board for strategy, evaluation, and execution decisions.
  • Manage challenging corporate commercial negotiations.
  • Ensure that Argus intellectual property is well protected.

  

What we’re looking for in you 

  

  • A deep understanding of commodities, energy markets, and trading.
  • Expertise in financial markets, OTC derivatives, and functioning of exchanges.
  • Prior work experience at a at commodity exchange is required.
  • Strategic and Commercial Orientation - Strong ability to formulate client strategy and proactively seek market opportunities to grow revenue.
  • High integrity leader who demonstrates executive maturity and self-awareness; should have a calm and composed demeanour, while keeping the team focused on results with an ability to keep Argus’ long-term growth in focus.
  • Must operate as a collaborative team player at all levels of the organisation including senior leadership, the commercial team, business development, audit, and legal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; listens and communicates effectively and attends to details to ensure high quality proposals and contracts.
